This policy explains how VintWire uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies, why they are used, and the choices available to you.

VintWire uses technologies that are necessary to operate, secure and remember choices on the website. Optional analytics and advertising technologies are controlled separately through VintWire's privacy preferences.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website can store on your device and read again later. They are commonly used for functions such as security, authentication, remembering preferences and measuring how websites are used.
Similar technologies can perform related functions without using a traditional cookie. These include browser local storage and session storage, as well as scripts, tags and pixels.
This policy uses the term technologies to cover cookies and these similar storage and access technologies together.
How VintWire uses them
VintWire separates technologies according to their purpose. Necessary technologies support the operation and security of the service. Optional technologies are divided into analytics and advertising categories so that you can make separate choices about them.

Necessary technologies
Necessary technologies are used where required to provide functionality you request, protect the website, maintain sessions, process forms and remember your privacy choices.
These technologies are not used by VintWire for advertising. Because they are required for the relevant website functions, they are not controlled by the optional analytics and advertising switches.
Blocking necessary cookies or browser storage in your
browser may prevent parts of VintWire from working
correctly, including account, form or preference
functionality.
Analytics technologies
VintWire's privacy controls include an analytics category for technologies that may be used to understand how people use the website, such as which pages are visited and how users interact with the service.
VintWire does not currently load an optional analytics service through the global website template. If analytics is introduced, this policy will be updated with the provider, technologies, purposes and applicable durations before or when that technology is deployed.
The VintWire consent system is designed so that optional analytics can be kept disabled unless you have enabled the analytics category.
Advertising technologies
VintWire's privacy controls also include a separate advertising category. This is intended for technologies that may in future be used to measure advertising, conversions or support advertising functionality.
VintWire does not currently load an optional advertising or remarketing service through the global website template. If services such as Google Ads measurement or another advertising technology are introduced, this policy will be updated to identify them and explain their use.
Optional advertising technologies will remain subject to the advertising choice in VintWire's privacy controls.
Technologies currently used
The following first-party technologies form part of the current VintWire website architecture. Cookies generated by Django may only be present where the relevant function requires them.

VintWire will review this list when website functionality
changes. Third-party analytics or advertising technologies
will be added here if and when they are introduced.
Your choices
On your first visit, VintWire's privacy controls allow you to accept all optional technologies, reject optional technologies, or manage analytics and advertising separately.
You can change your choice later using Cookie settings in the website footer or the button below. Changing a preference affects future use of optional technologies controlled by VintWire.
You can also use your browser settings to delete or block cookies and other stored website data. Browser controls vary between browsers and devices. Blocking necessary technologies may affect website functionality.
Third parties and merchant websites
VintWire contains links to independent wine merchants and other third-party websites. When you follow a link away from VintWire, the destination website may use its own cookies or similar technologies.
Those technologies are controlled by the relevant third party and are governed by that party's own privacy and cookie information. VintWire's privacy preferences do not control technologies used after you leave VintWire.
VintWire may record an outbound interaction on its own service where this is required for website functionality, security, internal records or permitted measurement. Where optional device storage or access is introduced for such measurement, it will be handled through the appropriate privacy category.
Changes to this policy
VintWire may update this Cookie Policy when website functionality, providers, technologies or legal requirements change.
Where a change affects the choices previously made through VintWire's privacy controls, VintWire may ask you to review those choices again.
